1. Fundamentals - 4 to 6 years old
Designed to develop the fundamental aspects of a beginning football player. The key features to the Activities designed is that they facilitate development of balance, motor coordination, and spatial awareness. Players spend the majority of lessons with a ball at their feet ensuring they gain confidence and ball familiarity from an early age. Skills are learnt and developed through participation in activities and games which are structured in such a way that ensures all children experience enhanced involvement, success and enjoyment.
2. Learning to Train - 7 to 10 years old
Players at this level will be ready to participate in small sided games (2v2, 3v3) and matches (5v5) to introduce game related concepts. In order to enhance individual performance in these matches, the importance of technique will be underlined and developed further increasing the range of techniques at the players disposal. Players will learn a wider range of controlled passing, receiving, dribbling and shooting skills.
3. Training to Compete - 11 to 16 years old
Focused on guiding young players towards team play through co-operative small sided games (3v3 and 4v4) and matches. Players are coached to make effective choices about attacking and defending as a small sided team. Players are taught to understand the different positions within a team and can select and demonstrate specific attacking and defending skills. Heading will also be introduced at this stage. Games involving these players will take more shape in attack and defense, and knowledge of concepts and tactics will improve. The initial stages of developing physical attributes such as speed, strength and endurance will also be incorporated into this programme.
